Study Goals
Guided reading is a study approach that provides instances of reflection for the students so they can demonstrate their ability to understand the meaning of the text. Guided reading gives students the chance to apply the strategies they already know to new text, but the ultimate goal is independent reading. The goals of the texts we are going to read are:
• To help students master the basic skills of reading comprehension;
• To help the students overcome lexical, idiomatic and structural difficulties;
• To enhance the skills of reading and cultivate literary competence in students.
